The Theme...
Theme colours are black and white! That's if I can find black and white flowers. I will obviously need silk ones if I have any chance of getting black flowers, but I cannot seem to find any I like? I found this website http://www.bridesdreams.co.uk/ but the women I contacted said black and white flowers are hard to find. I guess I'll just keep looking, because If I cannot find any, I'll have to change my colour theme, and I need to do that before I start setting my heart on things!
The Church...
... I would quite like to get married in St Mary's Church, on Ansty Rd. Even though its only up the road, apparently its not in my parish... and aren't there things surrounding being in the parish or not?! My church would be The Risen Christ & St Mary Magdalene. Theres a new part and an old part, and apparently you can choose which one, and the one part is beautiful? But what do I do? I call them and say what...? "marry me?" I'm absolutely clueless. But I have to get married in a church, because I have hymns I want to sing, and I'd like to be married in the eyes of God... plus you need a bit of the old "here comes the bride" organ playing if you want to feel like a queen for the day!
The Proposal
On 23rd March 2007, Chris was getting ready to leave for work. I asked him if he needed anything from town. He said he was going after work, so no. "Why are u going after work?" I asked. "For some new trainers..." jeeeez i bought him new trainers for Christmas! He doesn't need new trainers! I then realised it was my birthday on the 28th, so said nothing more.
He came home straight from work. Hadn't gone to town at all. So I stuck my bottom lip out and started pretending to sob. "I went at lunch"... I actually patted his pockets and told him I was checking for a ring, but thought nothing more of it.
I have to admit, Chris was talking a lot more proposals, and weddings, that usual. infact, more in that evening, than ever in the two years we have been together. He kept going on about this masterplan he had, but his friend Steve had pointed out a big flaw in it... and, he said, it would mean waiting too long. Turns out his masterplan was to take place on Wednesday, and apparently, that was too long. Bless him.
Aaaanyway... We spent all evening cleaning and things, and when we'd finished I had to sit down to work. Chris asked me to sit with him in the front room, and I growled NO, I HAVE TO WORK!... I had sat down to work for about 30 seconds, when Chris follows me in. "If you wont come and sit with me, then I'll come and sit with you"...
He waffled on for a little bit about proposals and marriages, and then asked
"when i propose, does it have to be romantic?"
"Chris, you wouldn't know romance if it bit you in the bum... so no"
"What so if I got down on one knee here, that would be ok?" ... he got down on one knee behind my computer chair. I continued with my work and said
"Yea. But it don't count." (he always asks me to marry him...)
"Would it count if I had a ring?" ... and swoosh, he pulled out the most beautiful ring I have ever seen and placed it in front of me on the computer table.
I proceeded to leap on top of him hugging him and saying "i love you"... when chris exclaims
"I haven't asked you yet!"
So I sat back, and he asked me if i'd marry him. I said of course I would.
Awww what a sweetie.

Welcome to the blog...
...so today I bought "For the BRIDE" magazine. There was a whole section about a women who just wrote down all the details of her experience from the very begining of planning, to the end stages. She then turned it into a book and published it! So I don't intend to publish my works as a book, but thought it would be an idea to pop all the stages of planning into a blog for others to keep track, as well as keeping track of myself! The scatterbrain in me just wouldnt survive without something like this. Onwards... Wish me luck!
